Lack of decent customer service
This is my very first message. Last Thursday on my off day, I caught the bus to see my psychiatrist a little after 3:45. By the time I walked from the bus stop to the office by 4:07, the psychiatrist was getting to be way behind schedule. There were a lot of people there at the office waiting for him and other different doctors. It became severely aggravating. I asked the receptionist how many people were in front of me. She said, "Six". I got increasingly annoyed and aggravated. By the time 5:00 p.m. rolled around, it was time to see my therapist. My therapist even told the office (or better yet my nurse) to knock on the door, letting them know that it was time to see me. Well, 5:30 to 5:40 rolled around. And no signs of my seeing the psychiatrist! Boy, this is a lack of decent customer service. By the time I got through seeing the therapist (I cut her service a little short because I had to catch the bus), there was no one to be found. Everyone but the receptionist had gone home. I do not know what to do! Maybe it is time to switch doctors because I've had this psychiatrist for almost 7 years. It is senseless for him to be behind schedule. And it makes matter worse when I have to fight traffic from Dunwoody to College Park in the evening time just to make a trip to see him!

Pros: The psychiatrist and nurse both take time to listen to my problems while I am at the office.
Cons: The psychiatrist does not return phone calls when an urgent situation arises.

Complete Lack of Respect for Others' Time
I was referred to Comprehensive Psychiatric Care by my Primary Care Physician for Suboxone Treatment. Suboxone is a medication the relieves withdrawal symptoms in patients who have discontinued long term opiate usage.

I have visited the office 5 times. At my first appointment, I was placed in an exam room 45 minutes after my scheduled appointment time and saw a doctor about 15 minutes after that. This was slightly annoying, but all too typical of doctors. It got progressively worse from there. The second time I did not see the doctor until 3 hours after my scheduled appointment time. The third time, I saw him 2 1/2 hours after my appointment time. The forth time was between 2 1/2 and 3 hours. The fifth time, I waited for one hour and walked out.

My visits have consisted of a nurse coming in and doing vital checks and a general "how are you feeling" questionnaire, which lasts 2-3 minutes. During the first visit, I spent about 10 minutes with the doctor. He asked me some background questions, wrote my prescriptions and I was done. During the next three visits the 2 minutes with the doctor each time have consisted of him asking if I was feeling 100% back to normal yet. I have said "no" and started to explain just to be cut-off and told that he would up my dosages and see me back in a month.

The kicker is that all over the office are signs saying that a patient will be charged for missing appointments or appointments rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice. Patients late to appointments will be rescheduled and charged for a missed appointment. They refill request number and website say that any refills requested because of missed appointments or rescheduled appointments will be charged $25.00. It is unbelievable that someone who obviously respects nobody's time but their own has the gall to post so many policies involving patients' punctuality. It has to be someone's idea of a cruel joke.
