Awesome place!! Shnasty crowd..
We went here for my 22nd birthday. Me and 7 of my friends dressed up. It was really easy to find, right off of west peachtree street and parking was every where. I read some where before we went that you could find some where to park for free, but we had two car loads and following so we just kind of picked one of the lots to park in. Parking is 4 dollars and hour or 10 for the whole night, we split parking. Once we got to the door we decided to enter in the lava part. We got our ids checked down below the steps and then walked up to the steps and apon entering a female behind a desk takes your 10 dollar cover. (covers differ so check the website cosmolavacom to see what it will be for the night you plan to visit) once we walked in there is a bar not even a foot away so we got 6 shots poured in under 2 minutes and the bartender even bought mine since it was my birthday! (not creepy either he didnt even ask whos bday it was just said one was on him) so then we decided we just wanted to walk around for a bit and scope the place out. so like a train we walked down stairs to the dance floor. It was lit up pink and was playing a little bit of top40 rap and some reggae ton which was kind of fun but i realized I needed to be drunker. We walk up to the bartender close by, a cute blonde, and I ordered grey goose and pinapple. It was 9 dollars and came in a teeny rocks glass. !! My friend got a taller glass for 8 bucks, vodka redbull. My other friends got vodka tonics, again in tall glasses and theirs were 6 dollars. So go for the vodka tonics! If you want a cheap drink. After the drinks we walked around some more. Upstairs was the patio and a vip room. there are three levels and its easy to get lost. the girl downstairs didnt have any budlight lime but there are a few bars on the patio too maybe two but i know for sure one its a teeny like, beer tub type bar and she has beers and some liquor but she was sort of a b*tch. the girl downstairs thought my friend was joking when she asked for a s*x on the beach so she didnt make it and my friend stood there waiting on her to make it and when she realized she wasnt kidding she laughed. My friend didnt find that funny. her s*x on the beach tasted awesome though. but, we went up to the vip room, the only let so many in at a time and have it roped off with a bouncer. It was tighter space, like partying in someones attick. Very cool. they played like "hips dont lie" shakira song, and 50 cent, its your birthday... you know...standard songs you dance too when you shwasted. so then I decided I needed to be drunker. ha. my friend bought two shots of jagermeister and two vodka tonics for 26 bucks, (i know yall will appreciate the prices, i always wonder how much drinks costs everywhere) and anyhow, i started just buying beers. at 4 a pop and you can control how strong ur drink is because, well, its a beer! and there was a photographer there who took 3 pictures of us, he was very friendly and talkative. TONS of singles are here, that of course wasnt for us since it was ladies night but everyone was trying to talk to us. A lot of sweaty italian men go here, its very diverse. The only thing we did not like about it is everyone there seemed to be about 28 to 40 years old and that just was not our scene. This place is so amazing and great, we just wish there were more attractive, young people here. We stood out like a sore thumb. GREAT PLACE, bring lots of money if you plan on staying all night. We left after an hour to go to east atlanta where the drinks are cheaper and the people are more fun!

pleasantly surprised
i didn't know what to expect at my first time at cosmolava-was it two places, or one? but after i got in and figured out the layout i got a sense of what each place was and how the places were different but also all seemed to flow together. It's not as pretentious as some clubs in atlanta can be, and the drinks were very reasonable. the music was all the top 40 stuff my friends and i like dancing to, we really liked the upstairs area and stayed there pretty much the entire night. the bartenders were friendly and we never had to wait long for drinks so we were very happy with this place overall. we will def. be going back!

Impressive staff/service, great drinks, good prices..Part 3
As mentioned before, one of the attractive things about CosmoLava is the number of different bars between the two clubs and the music selection. Now, granted I am not the biggest fan of house music or top-40 remixes, the three DJ's between the two clubs generally have something to offer for everyone. For those who don't want to dance or lose their hearing in the process, the deck and upstairs patio provide a nice escape if you can secure some real estate. The patio, from what I could tell, was the busiest area in both clubs. On a hot, humid summer Atlanta night you would think that the comfort of AC inside would be the most desirable place, but, truth be told, I could hardly tell if AC was even on when I went back inside to Lava to get our drinks. Cont....
The crowd was diverse, with a good mix of 20, 30, and 40-somethings both male and female. Everyone, for the most part, seemed to be enjoying themselves and the pretentious attitude that littered the midtown club scene years ago seemed non-existent.

Overall, all of our group had a great time and we will definitely come back.

The pros: The staff, especially Mike and Lauren, who really added to our enjoyment and entertainment for the evening with their service and personalities. A clean bar and great drinks. The aforementioned club layout and music selection.

The cons: The lack of air conditioning in ANY of the rooms. I realize it is hot, crowded, and a club...but some relief from the humidity outside shouldn't be too much to ask. Preparation...it was odd to say the least to have a computer guy working behind the bar at midnight on a Saturday, but the systems might have crashed that evening and it might not have been avoidable.
