I have used RWL for 15 years. Bob is very exacting. He will work to see what theproblem is on your car. This sometimes takes time...but I know that the problem will be fixed the first time!

I've been using RWL for maintaining my German vehicles since I moved to town 7 years ago. They are extremely competant and honest folks. No, it's not a fancy showroom/shop, but their prices reflect that. The owner is great at explaining exactly what they are planning to do before performing the work. As an engineer in the automotive industry I understand that not even a master technician will know exactly what is wrong with a vehicle until they get their hands a little dirty with it. I highly recommend RWL as your local shop if you've got Porsche, BMW, Mercedes etc... that means something special to you.

The folks at RWL are quite competent, knowledgeable and more that anything, ethical. With all my dealings with RWL, with multiple cars, and multiple service items, the story related is not even close to the RWL I?ve known and dealt with for over 11 years.

I will say that the guys at RWL aren?t going to give you simple answers to complicated questions. They aren?t going to waive a magic wand and make you poorly maintained car become new again, at least not for free and not while you wait.

Nor are they going to immediately find ?the part that went bad because another part was stressed due to the part that you replaced without knowing what you were doing was not the problem and in fact it was a different part causing the problem all along?. A part you should have replaced thousands of miles ago. Just an example.

What they will do, however, is treat you fairly, honestly and competently.

The first two negative reviews were written by the same person, they threatened to post as many negative comments on the web as they could, and they have.
Their '83 944 Porsche was towed into RWL without an appointment because it wouldn't crank. The writer stated it was brought in for "a minor repair", actually without consulting a crystal ball would they have that information. We performed several tests on the car and determined there was a problem in the wiring harness. We traced the harness and found several breaks and made the necessary repairs at the fire wall and the coil. The car cranked at this point and we were ready to test drive it. The repair bill for the job was $282.00, parts and labor.
Once we were able to drive the car we noticed a bad left rear wheel bearing and informed 1 of the 3 owners of the car. The cost of this repair would run an additional $465.00. We were given the 'go ahead' from "mitzi". Apparently the parties miscommunicated with one another and "Charles" did not want to pay for the additional work. We offered on at least 4 occasions to remove our bearing and put his back in with no additional charge to him. This offer was unacceptable to him and the bruhaha insued... He yelled, made demands, threats and called me a liar, that was the point when I declined to accept his check or credit card, payment had to be made in cash (not our norm). These people were already way too much work without having to track down a stop payment or a back charge.
We are fortunate that in the 35 years in business only occasionally have we encountered angry, irrational, vindictive and unreasonable people, almost without fail these are the ones that cannot afford the upkeep on their car. This particular car was a very old car and in much disrepair.
If there were a place for businesses to post warnings about these types of individuals, I would certainly recommend "charles" and "mitzi" to be added to the list as people to avoid.

Let me just start of by saying there were more things wrong with my porsche after I picked the car up, than when I dropped it off. Came in for smoke coming out of the tailpipe. When I got it back, Window switch was inop, and speaker hanging down from the wire. When asked if he (mech) would take care of it, he told me he didn't break it. Never got a call to let me know if my car was ready; after about a week I just decided to drop by to see how much progress was made, pulled up and seen my convertible sitting in the hot 100 degree sun for 2 days. (which is the reason the mech gave me as to how the speaker fell off my door) So needless to say, no care was takin for my custumized 993 while in their possession. As far as the items that were wrong with the car after I picked it up; was told that they were not liable.
